Thirty of David Kupferman's Recent Paintings Now on Exhibit at Crest Jewel, 48 N. Main Street on the Square

Hours are tomorrow, Friday, May 7th from 12:30 to 4:30 PM and again for ArtWalk from 7 PM to 10 PM. Thereafter Monday-Saturdays in May from 12:30 to 4:30 PM

David Kupferman's elegant lyric abstracts give an experience of unboundedness and transcendence with the juxtaposition of geometric forms and fluid gestural movement. Some are more landscape/seascape oriented inspired by his summers in Cape Cod and Santa Fe with their sublime unbounded skies and eternally flowing seas.

He is a nationally shown artist with over 25 solo shows. Last year he showed with the Teeple Hansen Gallery in Fairfield and in 2007-08 had solo exhibits in galleries in NY, Chicago and Boston. He is in a dozen museum collections and numerous institutions and corporations like the Federal Reserve Banks of Boston and Chicago. He had two solo museum shows in Mass. and is the recipient of major grants from the Pollock Krasner Foundation and the Adolph Gottlieb Foundation. He was the subject of an hour long TV documentary. David started coming to Fairfield part-time in 1979 and moved here from Boston in March 2009 to join the I.A. Assembly at M.U.M. which inspired his work. He comes from a family of well-known artists and started painting at a very early age.
